Rhythmplaza.com: Where are you originally from?  
Cy Young: I'm originally for Queens N.Y.

Rhythmplaza.com: When and why did you start using the name CyYoung?
Cy Young: I started using the name CyYoung some years back. A the time I as feeling everything was to one dimensional, it was all thug or over conscience or whatever, and I just feel like with me sometimes I'm positive, not always. Sometimes I'm cut up and wild out.... not always. The name CyYoung is just that to me, it represents versatility. Just like the pitcher, Cy Young award, You can't just have a curve ball or a fast ball, you have to be versatile, and I’m that. Plus I can bring the HEAT.

Rhythmplaza.com: Who was inspirational to you when you were coming up?   
Cy Young: To me You use to be able to hear Big daddy Kane on the air waves, can you believe that. Krs1, as well there were lots of artist, there still are lots of artist I enjoy, you just don't hear them on the radio.

Rhythmplaza.com: When did you first get into the music game?  
Cy Young: I've been rhyming since my early teens, I just got real serious a couple of years ago. I guess my official entry into music was the Jazzy Jeff compilation album, I was already building a name in the streets locally, the Magnificent (the jazzy Jeff album) propelled that to the world, over seas, Canada, N.Y, L.A. It just took what I was planning to do and escalated it 100 times faster by making it available to people everywhere.

Rhythmplaza.com: When did you get your first opportunity to showcase your talent?
Cy Young: On the small scale... I would never remember I’ve been doing it so long. On the large scale would be the Magnificent EP in 2002

Rhythmplaza.com: What does rap music mean to you? Where is it headed?
Cy Young: Hip Hop to me means creative, and Raw, I love that element of it.

Rhythmplaza.com: What’s up with the album?
Cy Young: I’ve just recently released the 24 track mix CD of all original material. We're looking to put out a single in the fall and hopefully the album shortly after.

Rhythmplaza.com: Tell us the name of the album and when did you come up with the concept?
Cy Young: It's called the best of Cy Young...and we did it in mix tape form to create a bigger buzz. We have so much material because were always recording for different projects so I figured it was only right to let the world hear it.

Rhythmplaza.com: What producers’ do you have on the album, and have worked with in the past?
Cy Young: Kevin Brown produced the majority of the tracks on the album, but we've got the whole Low Budget fam on the album Oddisee, Shaun Born, Ken Wood.

Rhythmplaza.com: What artist have you worked with in the hip hop genre?
Cy Young: I've worked with lots of artist that are coming up Paul Yams, Baby Blak, Critically Acclaimed, The Remains, Kaimbr, Chef Word, to name a few.

Rhythmplaza.com: What do you like to do when you are not rapping?
Cy Young: Write, perform, away from the music, just chill, lay low.

Rhythmplaza.com: What projects are you currently working on? 
Cy Young: Right now were working on My project the album, were doing things overseas early April, (shows, TV, mag., and radio), were working on DJ Roddy Rod's compilation now as well.

Rhythmplaza.com: How do you view the internet as a marketing tool?
Cy Young: The internet marketing now is growing and I feel it's already big the internet helps my project out alot.

Rhythmplaza.com: Do you get a lot of visitors and feedback on your website?
Cy Young: YES, the streets have been very responsive we got 30,000 hits one Monday that blew my mind. I opened for Ludachris and did some spots for the radio station, those things will only bring more people to the site so were gonna keep pushing

Do you sell cd's through your website? How is it, good or bad?
Cy Young: Yes we just started selling the mix CD we put out a test press and they went in a matter of day so I’ll have them back on the sites and in the streets March.31.

Rhythmplaza.com: What obstacles did you have to overcome in the music industry?
Cy Young: Not having tons of money behind me we did everything from scratch.

Who would you like to leave a shout out too?
Cy Young: Low Budget fam. and the streets for the support, and home.
