Rhythmplaza.com:
Where are you
originally from?
Cy
Young:
I'm
originally
for
Queens
N.Y.
Rhythmplaza.com:
When
and
why
did
you
start
using
the
name
CyYoung?
Cy
Young: I
started
using
the
name
CyYoung
some
years
back.
A
the
time
I
as
feeling
everything
was
to
one
dimensional,
it
was
all
thug
or
over
conscience
or
whatever,
and
I
just
feel
like
with
me
sometimes
I'm
positive,
not
always.
Sometimes
I'm
cut
up
and
wild
out....
not
always.
The
name
CyYoung
is
just
that
to
me,
it
represents
versatility.
Just
like
the
pitcher,
Cy
Young
award,
You
can't
just
have
a
curve
ball
or
a
fast
ball,
you
have
to
be
versatile,
and
I’m
that.
Plus
I
can
bring
the
HEAT.
Rhythmplaza.com:
Who
was
inspirational to
you when you
were coming up?
Cy
Young: To
me
You
use
to
be
able
to
hear
Big
daddy
Kane
on
the
air
waves,
can
you
believe
that.
Krs1,
as
well
there
were
lots
of
artist,
there
still
are
lots
of
artist
I
enjoy,
you
just
don't
hear
them
on
the
radio.
Rhythmplaza.com:
When
did you first
get into the
music game?
Cy
Young: I've
been
rhyming
since
my
early
teens,
I
just
got
real
serious
a
couple
of
years
ago.
I
guess
my
official
entry
into
music
was
the
Jazzy
Jeff
compilation
album,
I
was
already
building
a
name
in
the
streets
locally,
the
Magnificent
(the
jazzy
Jeff
album)
propelled
that
to
the
world,
over
seas,
Canada,
N.Y,
L.A.
It
just
took
what
I
was
planning
to
do
and
escalated
it
100
times
faster
by
making
it
available
to
people
everywhere.
Rhythmplaza.com:
When
did you get your
first
opportunity to
showcase your
talent?
Cy
Young: On
the
small
scale...
I
would
never
remember
I’ve
been
doing
it
so
long.
On
the
large
scale
would
be
the
Magnificent
EP
in
2002
Rhythmplaza.com:
What
does rap music
mean to you?
Where is it
headed?
Cy
Young:
Hip
Hop
to
me
means
creative,
and
Raw,
I
love
that
element
of
it.
Rhythmplaza.com:
What’s
up
with
the
album?
Cy
Young: I’ve
just
recently
released
the
24
track
mix
CD
of
all
original
material.
We're
looking
to
put
out
a
single
in
the
fall
and
hopefully
the
album
shortly
after.
Rhythmplaza.com:
Tell
us
the
name
of
the
album
and
when
did
you
come
up
with
the
concept?
Cy
Young: It's
called
the
best
of
Cy
Young...and
we
did
it
in
mix
tape
form
to
create
a
bigger
buzz.
We
have
so
much
material
because
were
always
recording
for
different
projects
so
I
figured
it
was
only
right
to
let
the
world
hear
it.
Rhythmplaza.com:
What
producers’
do
you
have
on
the
album,
and
have
worked
with
in
the
past?
Cy
Young:
Kevin
Brown
produced
the
majority
of
the
tracks
on
the
album,
but
we've
got
the
whole
Low
Budget
fam
on
the
album
Oddisee,
Shaun
Born,
Ken
Wood.
Rhythmplaza.com:

artist
have
you
worked
with
in
the

are
coming
up

Kaimbr,
Chef
Word,
to
name
a
few.
Rhythmplaza.com:
What
do
you
like
to
do
when
you
are
not
rapping?
Cy
Young:
Write,
perform,
away
from
the
music,
just
chill,
lay
low.
Rhythmplaza.com:
What
projects
are
you
currently
working
on?
Cy
Young: Right
now
were
working
on
My
project
the
album,
were
doing
things
overseas
early
April,
(shows,
TV,
mag.,
and
radio),
were
working
on
DJ
Roddy
Rod's
compilation
now
as
well.
Rhythmplaza.com:
How
do
you
view
the
internet
as
a
marketing
tool?
Cy
Young: The
internet
marketing
now
is
growing
and
I
feel
it's
already
big
the
internet
helps
my
project
out
alot.
Rhythmplaza.com:
Do
you
get
a
lot
of
visitors
and
feedback
on
your
website?
Cy
Young:
YES,
the
streets
have
been
very
responsive
we
got
30,000
hits
one
Monday
that
blew
my
mind.
I
opened
for
Ludachris
and
did
some
spots
for
the
radio
station,
those
things
will
only
bring
more
people
to
the
site
so
were
gonna
keep
pushing
Rhythmplaza.com:
Tell
the
readers
your
website
address.
Cy
Young:
www.cyyoungmusic.com
Rhythmplaza.com:
Do
you
sell
cd's
through
your
website?
How
is
it,
good
or
bad?
Cy
Young: Yes
we
just
started
selling
the
mix
CD
we
put
out
a
test
press
and
they
went
in
a
matter
of
day
so
I’ll
have
them
back
on
the
sites
and
in
the
streets
March.31.
Rhythmplaza.com:
What
obstacles
did
you
have
to
overcome
in
the
music
industry?
Cy

tons
of
money
behind
me
we
did
everything
from
scratch.

you
like
to
leave
a
shout
out
too?
Cy
Young:
Low
Budget

for
the
support,
and
home.
